It was cub ( whats the correct term ?) elephant .. standing alone and grazing. Probably he got lost or just wandered off from its group. Our vehicle just went and stopped. Every one was "sssshhhhhiing" the others in the vehicle so that the guy doesnt get disturbed. He was trying to eat some plant - beating it to the ground etc .. and then This guys turns around and in a moment came charging at the vehicle .

The people in our vehicle were frozen .. and at that exact moment my fingers pressed the shutter button in my camera .. click ... and the "auto" mode triggered the flash.

there was audible gasps .. all in the vehicle thought that this will be their most exciting encounter .. optimistically speaking .. they ever had with a wild animal and they were also conveying through glares the ways in which they plan to kill me - the guy who enraged the already angry animal with the flash.

BUT.

But, the charging animal froze ... it almost said, "thanks for that snap. send it to me once its ready .. I always wanted to pose like an action hero"

And then walked back to its grazing ground ...

people in the vehicle didnt know if my flash saved them or endangered them ...

the bumpy boring ride continued ..
